The Conference, which shall be a special gathering of youths representing the different faith groups and traditions in Africa, shall focus on "The Role of Religion in Building a Culture of Peace, Creation of Educational Programs for Religious Harmony, Religion’s Role in HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care and Support for PLWHA, Poverty reduction, Illiteracy as well as the Role of Interfaith Youth Movements in National Rebirth". We are gathering educators and youth leaders from areas of conflict in Africa to discuss as brothers and sisters on "Living Without Wars" as we shall present "Lessons for Peace in Africa". The Lessons for Peace in Africa initiative is a bold attempt by the African Christian Youths Development Forum in collaboration with the Interfaith Youth Core, Chicago-USA, The Dalai Lama Foundation, Palo Alto-USA and Teachers Without Borders-Nigeria, alongside several supporters and promoters of global peace and our numerous "Circle of Friends" to respond to the Interreligious, political and Inter-ethnic crises facing the African Continent.

Through this special assembly of youth leaders, scholars and educators, we hope to promote and create an atmosphere of dialogue among faith groups and educators and such shall serve as a unifying symbol of peace in these turbulent times in Africa.

The Theme of the Conference is: "Lessons for Peace: The Role of Interfaith Youth Movements in Addressing Conflict Situations in Africa".
